It has been a truly lovely last week at work, and the following things have made it so:

1. A weekend trip to Oxford - Oxford is the scene of some the happiest memories of my life, it is where I fell in love with Sam, where I met my best friends (aka 'the corridor') and where I started to really become the person I am today. It was so wonderful to visit last weekend and see Port Meadow, the river, the RadCam and of course Hughs in all their sunshiney glory, with some of my very favourite people by my side. It was the kind of joy filled day that will reflect it's happiness onto many long days in the office.

2. Some excellent food - it has official been a good food week. Highlights include Sichuan food at Barshu in Soho; breakfast with Lucy at Kopapa, boiled eggs and asparagus from my own kitchen and a delicious street food wrap from Moro in Exmouth Market after court. .

3.#poirottombs in Tatler - he is officially one of the UK's classiest cats! Nothing further need be said.

4. A flower delivery - I was sent the gorgeous flowers (pictured above) by some of my favourite clients at work as a thank-you. I have never received flowers at work before and it is definitely smile inducing. Such a kind gesture and they bringing summer into our house a treat!

5. My last day - this is still 'in progress' but thus far today I have been given gin and tonic, a perfect personalised leaving card and a beautifully baked summer sponge. It is certainly making me happy so far!! I am going to miss my colleagues a lot.

June Goals

Amazing bestie lunch date at Delancey and Co. in Warren Street.

I did pretty well on my May goals:

  • We had an incredible weekend in Exmoor and the forward planning - particularly the Ocado shop we did before going - meant everything went really smoothly;
  • I have nearly completed all my cases at work, and hope I have done the necessary planning to make sure that those that I have to hand over be easy for my colleagues to pick up;
  • The 'coat situation has been resolved'. All coats are now in cupboards, but I do need to be a bit tidier with my handbags.
  • I am still loving my more advanced hot yoga classes. In the last one I didn't even have to take any additional child's poses!
  • I made a courgette and orange cake rather than a chocolate and beetroot one as I had the ingredients. It got Sam's seal of approval;
  • I did finish Memoirs of Geisha. It was wonderful and made deeper sense of our travels to Japan.'.

My June goals are as follows;
  • Paint our kitchen step yellow - I meant to do this on Sunday but got diverted!
  • Avoid any silly arguments with my Daddy on our annual holiday (this year to Dublin).
  • Settle in to my new job, making a real effort to get to know my new colleagues and to get my head around the new systems.
  • Celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary (!!).
  • Choose invitations to my 30th birthday party.
  • Stick to recording all my spending.
  • Start running again now my knee is better.
